Performance

Precision crafted performance

Engineers from Europe, the United States, and Japan collaborated on the engine underpinning Acura’s latest innovation. The Acura mantra of “precision crafted performance” represents both a philosophical approach to building automobiles and a physical benchmark for a car born from the adrenaline and composure required for top track performance.

    Hand-Assembled Engine

In order for the NSX power plant to perform at its best, it must be assembled with care. Each engine powering Acura’s new supercars is hand-assembled by engineers trained in the assembly, maintenance, and repair of state-of-the-art vehicles like the NSX.

    Powertrain System

The 3.5L twin turbocharged V6 engine powering Acura’s supercar is longitudinally mounted and features a 75-degree V-bank, delivering 500 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Factor in the Sport Hybrid system and the NSX specs climb even higher to 573 hp and 476 lb-ft of torque, with a top speed of 191 mph.

  • 2017 Acura NSX 9-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission

    9-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission

With the first gear engineered for launching the NSX from a stop and the ninth built for cruising, you have seven options left, housed in a close ratio 7-speed gearbox. The dual-clutch transmission is directly linked to the direct drive electric motor for an instantaneous response to your shifting.

  • 2017 Acura NSX Integrated Dynamics System

    Integrated Dynamics System

Every element of the NSX performance has been engineered to deliver a response that is fitting for a supercar. Acura knows that not all roads are created equal, that sometimes a driver must adapt for the current conditions, and the NSX is ready to adapt with you. Choose from four driving modes on the Integrated Dynamics System—Quiet, Sport, Sport Plus, and Track—and get the most out of the NSX.

    Sport Hybrid

Direct electric torque and engine power combine for an advanced kind of performance, a dynamism that translates to braking and steering as well as acceleration. A pair of electric motors is located at the front of the NSX to immediately transfer torque to the wheels and guide you, and a third motor bridges the gap between the 9-speed dual-clutch transmission and the NSX engine.

  • 2017 Acura NSX Super Handling All-Wheel Drive

    Super Handling All-Wheel Drive

Acura’s all-wheel drive system directs torque to each front wheel independently thanks to the two front motors, applying true torque vectoring with each turn of the NSX. The result is a car that is able to accelerate much earlier out of a turn, leading to faster times on the track and encouraging spirited driving.

Exterior

Total airflow management

The 2017 Acura NSX features a purity of form that puts it among the upper echelon of automobiles, featuring graceful lines that weave through and complement aggressively sculpted body planes. Every viewing angle brings an exciting contrast and a new look at the car, and what might look like no more than a striking shape represents a purposeful detail, enhancing airflow management and letting the NSX cut through the air with grace.

    Jewel Eye LED Headlights

Cementing the NSX among the modern Acura lineup, the front end sports a pair of Acura’s exclusive Jewel Eye LED headlights. The headlight reflectors are designed to catch sunlight in the day and give the car the appearance of jewels even when the lights are off.

  • 2017 Acura NSX Multi-Material Body

    Multi-Material Body and Aerodynamics

Thousands of hours were spent on wind tunnel analysis and computational fluid dynamics tests, examining every dip and curve of the NSX. The result is a car that features three times the downforce at the rear than at the front for a precision sense of balance, and the lightweight yet durable multi-material body incorporates aluminum and carbon fiber for improved stability and safety.

  • 2017 Acura NSX Flush-Mounted Door Handles

    Flush-Mounted Door Handles

The NSX knows when its key fob approaches, popping out the otherwise flush door handles to allow you entry. Flush door handles are just one of many small touches that create a huge impact on overall aerodynamics.

Interior

Synergy of man and machine

A supercar requires more than just a powerful engine and some head-turning good looks. Every element of the 2017 Acura NSX has been precision-engineered to give it the feeling of an extension of the driver’s body. The pedals have been sculpted to welcome your feet. The wheel features indentations for your fingers at common grip positions. The spacious, minimalist cabin is welcoming to virtually all drivers, designed to be comfortable for even Georgia drivers with a height in the 95th percentile.

A studio that can approach 200 mph, of course.

  • 2017 Acura NSX Active Sound Control

    Quiet Ride

When driving in quiet mode, the exhaust gases of the engine pass through silencers to run virtually silent and deliver a serene cabin. Features like an acoustic glass rear cabin window, acoustic windshield, and Active Sound Control work to create a cabin that lets you focus on the drive.

  • 2017 Acura NSX Tire Pressure Monitoring System

    Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Under-inflated tires can lead to unpredictable performance—the last thing a driver wants behind the wheel of a supercar. The standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System alerts you to tires that are low on air, lighting up the dashboard and letting you know which tire needs to be topped off.

  • 2017 Acura NSX Cruise Control

    Cruise Control

The NSX has been built for drivers who love to devote 100% of their attention to the drive, but what about when you’re cruising down the highway on a road trip? Acura’s new supercar smoothly transitions from driver control to cruise control—and back, when you need it—with convenient steering wheel–mounted buttons.
